Delete branch "%!s()"
Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?
This requires several changes:
Most chapters posted to the Manga communities are either Mangadex or Mangaplus, both not pay-walled. Up for debate whether pay-walled chapters would be received warmly.
Possible Options:
Post JNC Chapter Links
- likely breaks unwritten etiquette rules in both communities
- unhelpful for people not already following the series as content is pay-walled
+ very easy to implement
Post JNC Chapter Links with Mangadex Links in comment
- personally not a fan of linking non-official sources (include message about JNC advantages?)
- difficult to implement config wise, especially since the JNC feed is not part based for the manga while Mangadex very much so is
+- lightly breaks community etiquette since users will be forced to check the comments for the actual chapter link
+ cross-post functionality would work as expected
[Not really] Post Mangadex Chapter Links to the Manga Communities
- personally not a fan of linking non-official sources
- this breaks the "cross-post" detection and marker in Lemmy, meaning it would need to be added manually.
- JNC and Mangadex series have to be synced and since the manga is split into parts on Mangadex but not on JNC this would be a major pain
+ more inline with expectations in the respective communities, chapters not behind paywall
Don't cross post manga chapters
- content remains difficult to discover for new users
+ no work at all
ludrol brought up another option:
Only Crosspost Chapters with no official translation
- no crossposting of main arc chapters
+/- I am fine with linking unofficial sources that are the only way to read ceratin media
+ following unwritten rules
+ crosspost to manga & aobmanga
+ only requires MangaDex as standalone chapter fetcher instead of weird syncing with JNC
